The Story Of The Remembrance Range Names

REMEMBRANCE RANGE OF BEDS
(Named for dogs)

SCAMP

Philip's first dog, a Dachshund cross (I suspect a lot of terrier in there somewhere), who would protect us with his life.

TISSI

Our Rough Collie and loyal companion who sadly suffered from depression following an armed robbery. She could not get to me when she felt she should be protecting me and afterwards slowly lost the will to live.

VINCENT

A rescue with no history and some serious psychological issues. With lots of patience and love he turned into a fantastic little dog – seven years later!

PAPEGENO

Very much Gerda’s Schnauzer, she ruled the dogs and most of the cats, especially when it came to food. Her only drawback was the typical love of water that she didn’t mind shaking off anywhere.

RASCAL

He came to us from a rescue centre aged between nine and ten years. A Rough Collie, German Shepherd cross, he was a true gentle giant with the most amazing ball sense we’ve ever seen. We were truly blesses to have him with us for the last seven years of his life.

SNUDDLE BEDS
(Named for cats)

TECARAH

Known as “Tekkies”, she was our senior cat, not only in age, but also in the way she ruled the household – a true queen!

SOCRATES

A long haired ginger(ish) cat that, unfortunately, was not the brightest cat around, but he more than made up for it with love.

RAMON

While we were living in Bloemfontein, a friend turned up one Saturday afternoon with a very thin, bedraggled kitten that she had just “rescued” from a dodgy pet shop. An hour after we got him, we were at the vet – apart from being severely malnourished and dehydrated, he had cat flu. A true little fighter, he pulled through and gave us years of joy.

NEFETARI

Also known as “Tea Pot”, her biggest treat was having some of Gerda’s tea, in her own saucer, of course.
